Marketing

Business owners and entrepreneurs are increasingly heading towards the internet as a method of capitalising on the phenomenal opportunities presented by interactive marketing.

Interactive marketing is synonymous with online marketing through activities like selling on eBay, promoting affiliate products, and developing and selling your own products.

Interactive marketing is ideal for those with limited experience and knowledge as has no entry barriers, and does not necessarily require a huge initial capital injection.

To get started in interactive marketing by determining what product to sell, here are some basic steps:

Step one: Select the field

Research the market with the aim to determine what needs are not being fulfilled. When you can identify this, you’ve found a market niche. Research this target market online and through other media such as television and magazines. Once you have identified a target market, you can come up with ideas for a product to fill the gap and satisfy the niche.

Alternatively, your product may be based on pre-existing knowledge you have of a market or products you are interested in. For example, if you have a great deal of experience working with cars, you can pursue this field.

Step two: Choose your product

If you choose automotive and cars and your industry to work with, there are many different products you could consider selling. You could sell car parts, car performance parts, or could even write an ebook on installing car parts to sell online.

The best way of doing this is to do your research and identify what trends are in your target market. Find out what does and doesn’t sell, and reasons behind these trends.

Another way of selecting a product is to improve an existing product. If you know of a product that is flawed or could be enhanced, you could consider that approach.

Forums are also ideal for identifying the needs of a niche market, and can be found easily by using a simple search engine.
